Manolis Tsaldaris Waterfresh on Business Monitor

WaterFresh brings paper packaging to the forefront and invests in sustainability, offering clean water with respect for the planet and the consumer.

On the occasion of World Water Day, Ioanna Thoma, Marketing Editor at Fortune Greece, hosted Manolis Tsaldaris, President of WaterFresh, on the Business Monitor show for a meaningful discussion on sustainable water management, innovation in packaging, and the social responsibility of businesses operating in the bottled water sector.

As Mr. Tsaldaris explains, WaterFresh is built on three strategic pillars: water resource management, sustainable packaging, and public awareness. The company’s collaboration with Tetra Pak led to the creation of FSC-certified paper packaging, featuring a plant-based cap and recyclable materials—offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic.

Despite the higher production demands, WaterFresh strives to maintain a competitive shelf price, aiming to make sustainability accessible to all. “We are trying to scale up our production in order to reduce costs and increase the adoption of the eco-friendly option,” he notes.

The company also carries out social contribution initiatives in regions of Greece with limited access to clean water, particularly during the summer months, demonstrating that responsible entrepreneurship also carries a social dimension.

Manolis Tsaldaris envisions paper packaging becoming the standard in the Greek market—without exclusions or “divisions” between tap water and bottled water.
